Somewhere in Dreamland by crystaltsubasa Somewhere in Dreamland by crystaltsubasa
It’s been ages since I’ve drawn something and I must say I felt quite happy drawing this…I almost wanted to cry while drawing this lol!! ^^; This is a bit different from my usual drawings I’d say it’s more colorful and childish-happy  I am quite happy with this drawing…. This is my version of the “ Popcorn Field ” scene; my favorite :giggle: This is from the film “Somewhere in Dreamland” part of Max Fleischer's Color Classics series. I believe it was from 1936 wowers! It's one of my favorite cartoons that I watched as a child; I still love it!

I tried adding the link to the film but it won't work this->=D gets in the way :( If anyone knows how to add youtube links please let me know. If anyone wants to watch the film search "Cartoon-Somewhere in Dreamland (1936)" on youtube

One of THE sweetest stories to ever come out of Fleischer Studios. Most people think this is one of the Christmas stories which is not true. Most cartoons from this time were produced during the Great Depression as a way to instill hope (A child's or otherwise).

Here's the only other Fleischer Cartoon with a similar theme. "Christmas Comes But Once A year" starring the most inventive, kind hearted soul, the one and only, Professor Grampy! [link]

That cartoon is my favorite of all time of old classic. I have a tape that I had for YEARS of that cartoon and I just adore it. Now, I found dollar dvds with it on there. Completely remastered. I love this cartoon and the story is so powerful!
